Lot’s of buyers, and lookers, like to drive around on weekends searching for Open Houses, and stopping in if the house appeals to them. A note of caution when you do this is warranted.
Remember, the agent holding the house open is working for the sellers. Even if it’s not the listing agent, any agent holding the house open, is representing the seller, and not any potential buyer. It doesn’t matter whether you’re working with a buyers agent, be careful of what you say at an Open House.
Just to take it a bit further…the agent at the Open House isn’t even supposed to solicit you for other potential houses, while you’re at the property. He or she can call you after, but while you’re on the property, the only house they are allowed to talk about is the one that’s being held open.
If you’re interested in an agent who can represent you as a buyer…I can help. Call Rich at 443-995-9595.
